    How do I upload a photo of myself?

    Be sure to sign in first. Then, click on the tab labeled Your Account. The bottom of the profile page will allow you to select a photo on your hard drive to upload. If you are signed in, you can go to the account profile page directly.

    How do I write my bio or upload a video bio for my journal?

    Visit your account page to change your bio or upload your video bio. We've posted instructions for uploading a video bio for your journal on our blog here.

    How do I vote on stories?

    Once you've registered, log in and click the up or down arrow next to any story on the front page. If you like the story, click the up arrow. If you don't like the story, click the down arrow. Stories will be moved up or down the front page based on your opinion and other editors on the site.

    How do I edit my feed?

    You can edit headlines and abstracts from your feed page if you are logged in. You can also remove stories from your feed. Just log in and visit your channel page or Your Accounts -> Feed page.

    How do I set up my journal welcome message?

    Just log in and visit your channel page, click on change settings. If you would like to edit your photo, visit Your Accounts -> Profile page.

    How do I email a story to a friend?

    Just click on the headline of the story, then click Email Story on the story page. Your photo and a story photo (if available) will be included in the email to your friend. You can specify as many as ten or more addresses per story.

    How do I invite a friend to join NewsCloud?

    Just log in and click on the Invite More tab in the far right column of the cover page. If you want to customize the outgoing message, you can visit the Custom Invitation Form. You can also use the Plaxo Address Book wizard to import emails from your mail service or client. The wizard makes it easy to share NewsCloud with all of your friends.

    How do I save stories to NewsCloud from Bloglines?

    If you would like to add stories to your NewsCloud feed while using Bloglines, you will need to follow the instructions here. You will need to use the Firefox Web browser and have the GreaseMonkey extension installed.

    How do I find RSS feeds for NewsCloud?

    There are a list of RSS feeds for NewsCloud here.

    How do I format comments for a NewsCloud story?

    We're using a text formatting system called Textile. If you're not familiar with it, here are some of the formatting options that you can use: <strong> for bold, <em> for italics, hyperlinks can be specified with an anchor tag <a href="http://www.url.com" title="link to this"> or using "linktext":url e.g. "Idealog":http://www.idealog.us, <p> for paragraphs,bq. for a blockquote or <blockquote><p></blockquote></p>, <q> for quotes, asterisks (*) for bullets. All your html tags must be closed properly or they will be ignored.

    If you wish to override the default setting for your NewsCloud Channel's RSS feed, please read this post for more details. NewsCloud allows you to set it's autodiscovery RSS link with a new URL from a feed republishing service.

    Visit any story page and click Blog This. But first configure your blog settings here. NewsCloud supports TypePad, WordPress, Blogger and LiveJournal blog services.
