Hillary Clinton braced for a do-or-die showdown in Pennsylvania on Tuesday by accusing rival Barack Obama of going negative and portraying him as too untested to be president.

"In a final flourish, Clinton released a new television ad Monday with images of Osama bin Laden and hurricane Katrina, as well as historical events like the stock market crash and the bombing at Pearl Harbor, to suggest Obama’s not up to the task of handling major crises."

Bill Clinton, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr. all used their left hands for everything from brushing their teeth to signing their names and, on occasion, shaking hands.

As it turns out, the two front-runners for their respective parties’ presidential nominations today, Barack Obama and John McCain, are lefties as well.

Missing couple show up at news conference into their disappearance

An Australian couple who went on a last-minute vacation arrived home on the weekend as police and reporters were preparing to hold a news conference about their suspicious disappearance. William and Heather Ostell found police searching their Melbourne home when they pulled into the driveway on Sunday. Australia’s Herald Sun newspaper reported police were in the process of ripping up a backyard deck to search for the couple’s bodies.

Al-Jazeera viewers – who are for the most part Arabs or interested in Arab affairs – were asked to vote electronically for their choice for U.S. president. A majority of Arabs, 61 percent, voted for Obama; Ron Paul came in at a distant second, with 10 percent.
