Dr Nedret Mujkanovic was found dead in his home in Tuzla. He earned his fame by risking his life to reach Srebrenica on foot through hostile Serb-held territory in 1992. He saved numerous lives from certain death. Srebrenica Genocide survivors were shocked when the news of his death surfaced in the media.

Survivors of Srebrenica Genocide Dealing with Ongoing Psychological Trauma

Over a decade after the Srebrenica Genocide, survivors are still struggling to come to terms with it. Whole families, particularly women and children, are deeply traumatised. They suffer from depression and often don’t have enough strength to lead a normal life. Many surviving parents were extremely reluctant to pronounce their children dead, because they feared that if they did so, it might somehow lessen their chances of ever finding their remains.

Serbs Burned Muslim Children Alive in Srebrenica (PHOTOS)

The events preceding and leading to the Srebrenica genocide included unprecedented levels of cruelty committed by Bosnian Serbs around Srebrenica against the civilian Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) population of Podrinje. In order to prolong the suffering of innocent victims, Serbs around Srebrenica would barricade Bosniak women, children, and elderly men in abandoned houses and then set them on fire alive. Srebrenica Genocide claimed lives of between 8,372 and 10,000 Bosniaks - men, children, and elderly - in a matter of days, while more than 20,000 people were forcibly deported in U.N.-assisted ethnic cleansing.

Srebrenica Numbers: 8,372 Victims of Srebrenica Genocide

Here is an update on Srebrenica numbers that we recently received from the Federal Commission for Missing Persons. The Commission confirmed that the current number of Srebrenica Genocide victims stands at 8,372. The identification process of remaining victims continues and is subject to revision and further updates. In 1995, Srebrenica Genocide claimed lives of 8,372 to 10,000 people, at least 500 of them defenceless children and babies. During the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide approximately 25,000 were forcibly deported in a U.N.-assisted ethnic cleansing. So far, 5,800 Srebrenica Genocide victims have been DNA identified.

Facebook has shut down Srebrenica genocide denial Hate Group set up by young Serbian extremists. A Serbian extremist behind Srebrenica genocide denial hate-group (Filip Filipi, aka Filip Visnjic, aka SIZZERB part time rapper) has also been actively advocating eradication of Jewish people, just because they happen to be Jews. The group called for a repeat of Srebrenica genocide and claimed it was "for everyone who thinks that Muslims are best served roasted, and swimming in sulfuric acid."

Facebook Hate Group Celebrates Srebrenica Genocide

Approximately 19,000 people have joined a group on the Facebook social networking website demanding removal of a Serbian hate group that glorifies the 1995 Srebrenica genocide. Srebrenica genocide claimed lives of 8,000 to 10,000 Bosniaks Muslims, including ethnic cleansing of more than 20,000 civilians.The Serbian hate group, which was created on Monday, is known as the "Noz, Zica Srebrenica" (Knife, Wire, Srebrenica) and is comprised of more than 900 extremists.

5,200 Victims of Srebrenica Genocide DNA Identified

The bones are from more than 8,000 men and boys slaughtered in 1995 during the Bosnian war at Srebrenica in the worst massacre in Europe since World War II.

About 5,200 people out of the 8,000 executed at Srebrenica have been identified with the help of ICMP, but new mass graves continue to be found and more remains are delivered to the facility in Lukavac to be matched.

Evidence gathered by the ICMP about the Srebrenica genocide could also be used against former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, who is set to face trial at The Hague, accused of ordering the massacre.
