    • Sheehan quits as face of US anti-war fight

Posted by Damianmann from Guardian UK

"This is my resignation letter as the 'face' of the American anti-war movement," she wrote in a sometimes bitter diary entry on the website Daily Kos. "I am going to take whatever I have left, and go home. I am going to go home and be a mother to my surviving children, and try to regain some of what I have lost."

    • Evidence Mounting for Armchair Revolution

      Posted by Damianmann from Informationclearinghouse.

Five giant corporate entities own most of media now and there is essentially no free press interested in doing investigative journalism anymore – but if it does, it’s smeared as that “leftist” or “liberal” press. The truth of current events can often be found on the web. But even when we know the (questionably vetted) truth, does that really change anything, I mean, in the long run?

Police probe fires near Seattle suspect eco-arson

I am not comfortable with the FBI using the term domestic terrorism on this kind of arson. It seems like a stretch…it diminishes the term terrorism from the kind of efforts aimed at killing thousands, tens of thousands or millions of people and creating an ongoing sense of fear in their lives. This kind of arson is aimed primarily at property, does not often target people – albeit it does seemed aimed at political change…it still seems like arson or violent activism to me. Is anyone afraid ELF is going to burn their house down tonight?

Thank you Cindy Sheehan. You served as the face of a movement I participated in. You served as a voice of a movement I participated in. You fought the good fight and I was proud of what you did.

She dared to be the face of a movement that forced us to look ourselves in the mirror and face the consequences of ill-conceived policies that kill our men and women in uniform and innocent civilians in Iraq.

BUT she was more than a face or emblem of a movement, she was a mother who paid the ultimate price in this fiasco – the first in losing her son, and the second by the character assassination and “swift-boating” carried out by immature pukes.

It’s still sad to see even she’s been defeated by this war. I think a lot of people will lose hope from this.

The William Holmes Blog » Bush has got to go

I just thought of another idea. Everyone carries eviction notices and they're taped around the entire fence of the Whitehouse

Not much in the way of response so far. I'm trying some other avenues today
