      The carrier said it would ask passengers on the A380 to refrain from sex while ensconced in one of its 12 first-class suites, which boast the world's first airborne double beds. Clearly, the airlines want to keep their monopoly on screwing you when you fly!

      Dawn was breaking as the double-decker A380, which will carry about 100 more passengers than a 747 in most airline configurations, approached the airport from the north over the Strait of Georgia after a flight of 14 hours and 25 minutes across the Pacific from Sydney, Australia.

      The new head of Airbus pledged Tuesday to go ahead with plans for a mid-sized jet and cost reductions identified by his predecessor, who quit after a leadership struggle. Louis Gallois, appointed Monday to succeed former CEO Christian Streiff, said he was in favor of pressing ahead with the planned A350 jet to rival Boeing Co.'s 787.

      Airbus says no 'meathook' class

      According to no less an authority than the New York Times, Airbus has been quietly looking into the idea of offering standing room only "seats" on its largest jets, in order to squeeze out the maximum amount of passenger-carrying capacity. For their part, Airbus denies the rumor. "Our passengers and customers want more and more comfort," said Airbus spokeswoman Barbara Kracht. "We're going in the direction of more comfort, not in that direction."
