    • Schumer to fight new Bush high court picks

      Posted by Jeff from Politico

Senators were too quick to accept the nominees’ word that they would respect legal precedents, and “too easily impressed with the charm of Roberts and the erudition of Alito,” Schumer said. “There is no doubt that we were hoodwinked,” said Schumer. Well duh.

Posted by Billbar from New York Times

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

"Any activist will tell you they'd rather have the issue out there than to have it resolved," says this pro-choice Republican, who has worked on the Hill and for various Republican interest groups. "If Roe were overturned, we'd be electing Democrats as far as the eye can see." Clift gets at the ultimate hypocrisy of GOP leadership - they're using the religious right. They'll never actually overturn Roe and Alito is probably on board with that.
