I certainly hope that Artists will join in a boycott against Michaels. As I see it, they have not only contributed to attack ads, but they owe many Artists/ buyers a lot of money due to inferior products purchased there. Mainly canvas that warp, as no one will purchase an original piece of artwork that has warped to the point of being not able to be framed due to the degree of warping that takes place using Michaels' Brand canvases. The canvas work will hang properly on any wall and will jut out from the wall by 4 inches or more. This is not appropriate and I am PO'd for Michael's backing of the Bush Adm. But I am extremely PO'd for being responsible for the damage to many fine art originals that cannot be offered for sale. I am stuck with many canvases which have great art, but are rendered useless by shoddy workmanship and inferior woof strtcher bars. I actually think they use bals wood?

The Cape Farewell Project, now in its third year, brings together creative types with the aim of "using the Arctic as a source of 'artistic' food", and also hooks artists up with scientists and educators. The 2005 voyage included such Brit-art names as Rachel Whiteread, Gary Hume and Antony Gormley; the novelist Ian McEwan; and the dancer Siobhan Davies.

    • Science imaging: Towards the microcosm

Science gives us to see further than the first degree image that projects on our retinas and ... when it comes to seeing more, science holds a marvelous tool-chest of techniques. Science has indeed drastically demultiplied the potential of first degree images that our retinas can absorb. Basically science helps us enlarging our vision of reality in three directions: - towards the microscopic, - towards the macroscopic - towards the abstraction emerging out of mathematical formulas.
