    • Minefield Shows the (Really) Fast Future of Firefox

      Posted by Jeff

If you are using Firefox 3 (or even Chrome) you should consider taking a look at Mozilla's Minefield. This browser (alpha version yet, but stable) would give a new meaning to 'fast browsing experience.' Some Firefox extensions aren't supported, but riding the fastest javascript engine on the planet definitely worth a try. Minefield's install won't affect your Firefox, so there's no risk trying it. It's fast. Really. And I'm loving it.

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

But for those of us who want a fast, no-nonsense Web-browsing experience, Chrome is a terrific option. Its ease of use does take some getting used to - imagine that! - and it's an appealing entry into the competitive Web browsing market.

    • Slashdot _ Firefox 2.0 RC2 Review

      Posted by Jeff from Chineseinvancouver.blogspot

From the article: 'If RC2 is any indication, Firefox 2.0 is an incremental improvement of the 1.5.x series with performance improvements and a handful of relatively useful features. Based on my own experience, I consider it stable enough for regular use, but I endorse caution for users that rely on a lot of extensions, as most extensions aren't yet compatible with Firefox 2.0.'"

Firefox 3 Beta 3 Brings a New Browsing Interface

I am excited for it – but I wish they would certify plug-ins a bit faster as they go along.

Firefox 3 Beta 3 Brings a New Browsing Interface

Maybe it’s the “resource hog” property of Firefox that has kept me away: my system seems alllergic to FF, as the whole thing overheats and shuts down within seconds of the program being accessed.

Perhaps I should try Beta 3, and see what happens.
