Posted by Shemuses from Globe and Mail

David Suzuki is launching an election-style, national tour this week — starting on the East Coast — to urge Canadians to make the environment their top political issue. The science broadcaster's tour will stop at cities across the country, and audiences will be asked, "If you were prime minister, what would you do for the environment?"

Tories 'cut a deal' with NDP on climate

Posted by Shemuses from Globe and Mail

Signs of an alliance between Conservatives and New Democrats emerged Monday as MPs launched into a rewrite of the government's central climate-change legislation. Members of Parliament returned to Ottawa Monday morning after a six-week recess, where they were greeted by a sunbathing Greenpeace activist in a polar-bear suit... The environmental

In spite of their higher education levels, new immigrants to Canada are worse off now than they were in the 1990s, Statistics Canada reported Tuesday. In 2002, low-income rates among immigrants during their first full year in Canada were 3.5 times higher than those of Canadian-born people. By 2004, the rate had eased only slightly, to 3.2 times...

Promising jobs and growth has been a central theme of political platforms ever since American strategist James Carville coined the phrase "It's the economy, stupid," to explain Bill Clinton's rise to the U.S. presidency. But Canadians appear to be turning that conventional wisdom on its head as they grapple with the country's response to climate..

Canada to seek climate deal with Obama

This sounds like a good news story but iin reallity the Canadian government wants to secure concessions for that massive greenhous gas emmitter called the tar sands. They want to play America’s energy security worries off of climate change to ensure that the growth of the oil sands can continue unabated under supposedly tighter carbon emmissions restrictions.

    The Culture of Meat

A humanity that would domesticate is not healthy.  Exploitation and slavery come to mind, as well as torture.  Given all the information available about the harms of animal products on the human body I am flabbergasted that people accept this ‘meat washing’.

    incorrect overdose of simple proteins

no animal that eats meat naturally has to cook it

    intestine inflammation

    reduced energy and fatigue

Maybe because I have never eaten it and observed the effects on others that I take this no intentional harm abuse or consumption of life stance.  good book: Eternal Treblinka
