      Tories unveil their attack ads

Posted by Shemuses from Globe and Mail

The Conservatives have unveiled three new television ads directly attacking newly minted Liberal Leader Stephane Dion. The English-language ads, which begin airing immediately and will be followed by a second series of French ads, assert that Mr. Dion is a weak leader who would take the country back to the past. • Canadians tuning out grisly details from Pickton trial

Posted by Shemuses from Globe and Mail

The first-degree-murder trial of Robert William Pickton is supposed to the most sensational to ever hit Canada — the biggest serial-killer case in the nation's history, a magnet for media outlets from as far as Britain and Germany. Yet evidence suggests many Canadians simply don't have the stomach for it.

    • Ethanol to the Rescue?

Posted by Shemuses from The Tyee

Admittedly, this Big Story is a couple days old, given that U.S. President Bush spotlighted ethanol and other bio-fuels in his State of the Union address Wednesday evening. But given that Bush pinned his nation's future on distilled corn in gas tanks, bio-fuels will be a Big Story for quite some time.

Exoneration and an apology, but U.S. won't budge on ban

Posted by Shemuses from Globe and Mail

The Americans continue to keep the Canadian man, whom they branded a terror suspect and sent to Syria in 2002, on their watch list. His name has not been removed despite his exoneration in this country and the apology he received Friday for the role Canadian officials played in his 10-month ordeal in a Syrian prison.

Canada to seek climate deal with Obama

This sounds like a good news story but iin reallity the Canadian government wants to secure concessions for that massive greenhous gas emmitter called the tar sands. They want to play America’s energy security worries off of climate change to ensure that the growth of the oil sands can continue unabated under supposedly tighter carbon emmissions restrictions.

    The Culture of Meat

A humanity that would domesticate is not healthy.  Exploitation and slavery come to mind, as well as torture.  Given all the information available about the harms of animal products on the human body I am flabbergasted that people accept this ‘meat washing’.

    incorrect overdose of simple proteins

no animal that eats meat naturally has to cook it

    intestine inflammation

    reduced energy and fatigue

Maybe because I have never eaten it and observed the effects on others that I take this no intentional harm abuse or consumption of life stance.  good book: Eternal Treblinka
