Determined to get hios citizenship back, he declares Canada is going to be the next power and says he is very confident that he’ll be acquitted of plundering millions of dollars from his old company Hollinger.

- Canada troops battle 10-ft Afghan marijuana plants

  Canadian troops fighting Taliban militants in Afghanistan have stumbled across an unexpected and potent enemy -- almost impenetrable forests of 10-feet high marijuana plants. General Rick Hillier, chief of the Canadian defence staff, said on Thursday that Taliban fighters were using the forests as cover. In response, the crew of at least one armored car had camouflaged their vehicle with marijuana. One soldier told him later: "Sir, three years ago before I joined the army, I never thought I'd say 'That damn marijuana'."

  Three years ago, Vancouver opened a bold new front in the eternal war on drugs. In a downtown neighborhood notorious for street addicts, healthcare workers began welcoming clients into a new "safe injection site," a legal facility for users of illegal narcotics such as heroin and cocaine. The Insite program has saved hundreds of lives. It has wiped away much of the drug use in the surrounding streets, while increasing the number of addicts seeking treatment and rehabilitation. Some local conservatives, once fierce opponents of the injection site, are now backing it. And supporters believe the site's success will prove a beachhead for a less punitive and more humane war on drugs extending across Canada -- and even to drug-troubled cities south of the Canadian border.

  Guy Fournier raised eyebrows recently with an article in the popular magazine Sept Jours in which he suggested that bestiality was accepted in Lebanon as long as it was with a female animal. Fournier subsequently apologized for the comments, saying he had been mistaken. Fournier once again raised eyebrows when a lengthy interview he granted to a Toronto community radio station, CHOQ-FM, last May came to light in which he extolled the pleasures of defecating. ''The most extraordinary thing is that, in the end, as you grow older, you continue to go poop once a day if you are in good health, while it is not easy to make love every day. So finally, the pleasure is longer lasting and more frequent than the other.'' 'I think he was the victim of his own turpitude,'' Liberal MP Denis Coderre said. ''He flushed himself.''

- Canadians Fault U.S. for Its Role in Torture Case

  A government commission on Monday exonerated a Canadian computer engineer of any ties to terrorism and issued a scathing report that faulted Canada and the United States for his deportation four years ago to Syria, where he was imprisoned and tortured. The report on the engineer, Maher Arar, said American officials had apparently acted on inaccurate information from Canadian investigators and then misled Canadian authorities about their plans for Mr. Arar before transporting him to Syria.

- Montreal Shooting Rampage Kills Student

  A young man in a black trench coat and a mohawk haircut opened fire Wednesday at a Montreal college, slaying a woman and wounding at least 19 other people before police shot and killed him, witnesses and authorities said. "I was terrified. The guy was shooting at people randomly. He didn't care, he was just shooting at everybody," said student Devansh Smri Vastava. "There were cops firing. It was so crazy."

- New poll says most Canadians blame U.S. for 9/11 attacks

  A majority of Canadians believe U.S. foreign policy was one of the root causes that led to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, and Quebecers are quicker to criticize the U.S. administration for its international actions than other Canadians, a recent poll suggests.

This sounds like a good news story but iin reallity the Canadian government wants to secure concessions for that massive greenhous gas emmitter called the tar sands. They want to play America’s energy security worries off of climate change to ensure that the growth of the oil sands can continue unabated under supposedly tighter carbon emmissions restrictions.

wow. the police look into the house, see them using drugs and arrest them. them there is hard core drug enforcement policy. i feel a lot safer knowing that Steven is locked up and in the criminal justice system.

A humanity that would domesticate is not healthy. Exploitation and slavery come to mind, as well as torture. Given all the information available about the harms of animal products on the human body I am flabbergasted that people accept this ‘meat washing’.
