Briton 'could stage another September 11'

      Posted by Jeff from Telegraph.c

I'm more afraid of Bush/Cheney than terrorists: Mr Chertoff said that "we can do a good job with the known terrorists, if we have their name, or if we've previously arrested them and have their fingerprint on file" but a more potent threat was the terrorist with no known form. "The fear has always been the so-called 'clean skin' - that's a person whose documents are completely legitimate, are not forged."

Web could be terror training camp: Chertoff

Posted by Billbar from Yahoo News!

Disaffected people living in the United States may develop radical ideologies and potentially violent skills over the Internet and that could present the next major U.S. security threat, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said on Monday. "They can train themselves over the Internet. They never have to necessarily go to the training camp or speak with anybody else and that diffusion of a combination of hatred and technical skills in things like bomb-making is a dangerous combination," Chertoff said. "Those are the kind of terrorists that we may not be able to detect with spies and satellites."

Sure, it's behind the NYT firewall but Maureen Dowd rips Bush, Cheney & Chertoff a new one for their failure to protect America. In a macabre metric of improvement, Dr. Death also noted that things were looking up. "There are a lot more Iraqis becoming casualties in this conflict at present because they are now in the fight," he said cheerily.

Clinton, GOP Congressman to Chertoff: 'Wish you were here'

      Posted by Billbar from Rawstory

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) and Congressman Peter T. King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, are responding to a Department of Homeland Security claim that New York City has no "national landmarks and icons" by sending DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff postcards of famous New York sights.

Perfect. Visit some naughty web sites containing “dangerous” information and you become a terrorist. With that pesky habeas corpus out of the way, DHS whisks you away. You’re “disappeared”.
