Doctors remove third arm from baby

Posted by Billbar from China Daily

A 2-month-old Chinese boy was recovering Tuesday after surgery to remove an unusually well-formed third arm. Neither of the boy's two left arms was fully functional, but surgeons decided to remove the one growing closer to his chest after tests showed it was less developed. "We found the nerves and blood vessels for the arm were formed just as they would be for a normal arm," Dr. Chen Bochang told reporters.

Posted by Billbar from Boston Globe

The board of governors of the American Bar Association voted unanimously yesterday to investigate whether President Bush has exceeded his constitutional authority in reserving the right to ignore more than 750 laws that have been enacted since he took office. The ABA's president, Michael Greco, said in an interview that he proposed the task force because he believes the scope and aggressiveness of Bush's signing statements may raise serious constitutional concerns.

Rumsfeld visits Vietnam to boost military ties

      Posted by Billbar from Reuters

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld arrived in Vietnam on Sunday for a visit aimed at boosting security ties with a former foe that now shares American wariness about China's rising military might. Rumsfeld's Pentagon has built close ties to Asian countries ranging from Vietnam to Mongolia and modernized its alliances with Japan and South Korea to reflect post-Cold War demands for smaller, nimbler forces to cope with regional contingencies.

    Hacker Uncovers Chinese Olympic Fraud

One of the many tragedies of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina three years ago was the fact that insurance companies used the event to systematically deny claims, leaving victims further in desperate straits. That shouldn’t happen following any natural disaster, and even though the immediate storm effects did not cause as much damage as predicted, there are sure to be plenty of claims for flood damages throughout the Midwest and along Gustav’s path. If you or someone you know has been denied an insurance claim related to Gustav: that would be a site you should visit.

Amanda Beard Nude Olympic Anti-Fur Protest Shutdown

After watching an appalling video of stray cats and dogs being stuffed into wire cages like sardines, dropped off the side of trucks, and skinned for their fur, it's easy to see why Amanda Beard felt the need to shed light on the situation... hope it reduces the suffering and grim fate of future animals.

    Hacker Uncovers Chinese Olympic Fraud

This is typical of how the IOC has bowed very low to China in every way, regarding these Olympics.  From lax to a lack of, enforcement of even the mildest of prerequisites China agreed to in order to secure Beijing as the host city, to staying mum while China stops athletes from competing based on their politcal beliefs, the IOC have shown what they are really about: the money!
