      It's Bill Clinton's Fault

      Posted by Billbar from firedoglake

Frankly, I’m fed up with paeans to St. Bill Clinton. He was extraordinarily talented, and the Democratic party grew far weaker under his leadership. Yes, we defended him when he was wrongly attacked, but now it’s time to get past Bill worship. Idiots like Obama still think the path to power is to spin Karl Rove’s lies into oratorical gold to gin up support from people who would rather see him in shackles than see him in national office.

So let's get this straight: the value of "standing up to" (i.e. smearing) a man who volunteered to risk his life for America "cannot be expressed in words" because, like service to the nation, it "speaks volumes about what matters most." Yes it does, in the twisted view of America's far right, where vilifying war heroes like Murtha, Cleland, and Kerry is a noble cause.

    • Senator Clinton to cosponsor Internet neutrality law

      Posted by Billbar from Rawstory

We must embrace an open and non-discriminatory framework for the Internet of the 21st century. Therefore, it is my intention to be an original cosponsor of the Dorgan and Snowe net neutrality legislation to ensure that open, unimpaired and unencumbered Internet access for both its users and content providers is preserved as Congress debates the overhaul of our nation’s telecommunications laws. Any effort to fundamentally alter the inherently democratic structure of the Internet must be rejected.

They really didn't need to do this poll on whether Clinton outperformed Bush. It's obvious to anyone who lived through the era. What the story fails to mention is that Clinton outperformed Bush while fighting off the rabid, slavering GOP congress of Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott that was determined not only to thwart his program but used every institutional lever of power they had to destroy him personally.

Clinton backs Obama and bows out

Whew. She made me nervous there for a while. If she became president I would have became Austrailian.

He will probably pick a conservative democrat. Webb’s name has come up a few times.

I do not think he will even ask her.  Why people think its as simple as pulling together their two groups of supporters is beyond me. Its much more complex, not to mention that he needs a more conservative voice to attract votes from McCain . . . I expect to see a caucasian male on the ticket . . . any guesses?

Does Barack really want Bill down the hall all day, peeking in and looking over his shoulder?

If Obama loses to McCain, Clinton can run again in 4 years while she is still young enough.

    Clinton to Endorse Obama

And yet, there will continue to be a large number of her votership claiming to speak for everyone when they insist they’ll never vote for that "empty suit"/"inadequate black man"/"socialist" – no matter how much reconciling she does now (which I honestly doubt will be much).

Clinton Kennedy Assassination Reference: Raises Bobby's Death To Explain Why She Stays In Race

So which is it… the campaign or the supporters? And why drag mental health into the equation, when that’s clearly a very dangerous subject to raise given the behaviour HRC has exhibited could just as readily be attribued to psychological stresses of varying degrees?
