    • Ted Kennedy's speech.

      Posted by Jeff from Feeds.feedburner

The drawn out primary battle between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton has split Democrats as bitterly as the 1980 challenge by Sen. Edward Kennedy to President Jimmy Carter. Carter prevailed to win the nomination against GOP nominee Ronald Reagan, but the August convention in New York is remembered mainly for Kennedy's rousing concession speech (see below and the following 3 pages). The only thing anyone remembers about Carter's acceptance speech is that he slipped and called Hubert H. Humphrey, a hallowed party figure who'd died two years earlier, "Hubert Horatio Hornblower." The gaffe was booed and Carter lost in November. Kennedy remains in the Senate, but was diagnosed this week with a brain tumor. The prognosis remains uncertain, but at the moment Kennedy is "in good spirits and full of energy," according to his doctors.

Black Accountability Project: DNC Color Divide

      Posted by theangryindian from Angryindian.blogspot

"AAPP says: Karen Brooks of The Dallas Morning News is reporting on the problems involving the selection of Democratic National Convention bloggers. Check out the link to her article below. Ms. Brooks provides a great overview on the issues involving the Democratic Party and how they are treating black bloggers. I know Native Americans and the Angry Indian must be wondering why Native Americans seem to be excluded by the DNC as well."

    • Political Cortex: Gym Pundits Worry About Obama Nomination

      Posted by Villagenyc from politicalcortex

When seeking to challenge his Obama friend, he asked him about the lopsided Clinton victory in West Virginia and the other wins in Pennsylvania and places like Ohio, places in America where progressives have work to do and trust to win, where aggressive attempts to prove to the economically disenfranchised or higher education denied and affordable universal health care starved people that government can do good things for people, the Obama supporter cut deep.

    • Clinton: Playing the race card? - First Read - msnbc.com

      Posted by Jeff from firstread.msnbc.msn.com

Hillary's comments were disgusting and racist. The Daily Show covered it here. " 'I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,' she told USA Today in an interview published yesterday. She referred to an Associated Press story on Indiana and North Carolina exit polls 'that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hardworking Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.' She added, 'There's a pattern emerging here.'"

Clinton backs Obama and bows out

Whew. She made me nervous there for a while. If she became president I would have became Austrailian.

He will probably pick a conservative democrat. Webb’s name has come up a few times.

I do not think he will even ask her.  Why people think its as simple as pulling together their two groups of supporters is beyond me. Its much more complex, not to mention that he needs a more conservative voice to attract votes from McCain . . . I expect to see a caucasian male on the ticket . . . any guesses?

Does Barack really want Bill down the hall all day, peeking in and looking over his shoulder?

If Obama loses to McCain, Clinton can run again in 4 years while she is still young enough.

    Clinton to Endorse Obama

And yet, there will continue to be a large number of her votership claiming to speak for everyone when they insist they’ll never vote for that "empty suit"/"inadequate black man"/"socialist" – no matter how much reconciling she does now (which I honestly doubt will be much).

Clinton Kennedy Assassination Reference: Raises Bobby's Death To Explain Why She Stays In Race

So which is it… the campaign or the supporters? And why drag mental health into the equation, when that’s clearly a very dangerous subject to raise given the behaviour HRC has exhibited could just as readily be attribued to psychological stresses of varying degrees?
