      Posted by theangryindian from iraqslogger.com

Al-Huwaider, Iraq – The sheikh’s long elegant fingers moved liked birds as he spoke with the American commander from Texas. In the modest office of the representative of the most revered Shiite cleric in Iraq, religious authority met military power – and agreed on one thing. “The enemy didn’t come from outer space or the moon. He is between us, from here,” Sheikh Ahmed Hamid al-Tamimi told Colonel David Sutherland. Tamimi, the Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani’s representative in Diya

The US House of Representatives has adopted a measure aimed at weaving closer US and Israeli defences against ballistic missiles of the type that could be fired by Iran. The measure, part of a $504 billion defence spending bill passed on Thursday, would redirect $205m in defence department funds toward projects already underway in Israel. The leaves of military personnel have been canceled and additional forces have been deployed to the border with Iraq as the military apparently prepares for an operation against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). I also listen to Malloy and he does not report on nearly as much alternative news as we do here or I do on my own Indigenist newsblog. Raw Story and Common Dreams seems to be his main alt-news sources. I’m not sure how much he knows about portals like ours. Drop him a line, maybe he’ll give us a look-see.
