Mouse-Trapped: Substitute Teacher To Be Sentenced Friday

Posted by Kathy from Security Focus

What is wrong with America? In Connecticut, a 40 year old substitute teacher is about to be labeled a sex offender and sentenced for up to 40 years in prison for exposing kids to porn ... when it looks like she was the victim of spyware. Add to this the Genarlow Wilson case in Georgia, and we have a country obsessed with punishing alleged sex crimes. Color us Puritan. Read Rasch's take.

    • Polls Lagging, Lamont Gives Campaign $2M

Posted by Jeff from CBS News

Lamont has given $8 million to his campaign. Lamont's personal wealth has been estimated at between $90 million and $300 million, according to his campaign. Kind of sad that the Senate is so expensive to win these days. Government for the rich. It would be great to get rid of Lieberman but I wish it was more grassroots and less Ned's bank.

      Lieberman gains ground against Lamont

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

It'll be an exciting Tuesday evening while we wait for these results. The race tightened towards the end - but Lamont has had every progressive blog and Comedy Central tv show behind him. Let's hope he can make it stick.

Political Scandals Refuse To Go Away in 'Corrupticut'

Posted by Billbar from Washington Post

The past few years have revealed so many tales of graft, malfeasance and all-purpose criminality by public servants in Connecticut that it's hard to choose the most brazen. There was the mayor who liked to be plied with $100-plus bottles of Bordeaux. The governor who took a free hot tub. The state senator who was given a job that paid $30,000 for doing nothing -- and then demanded a raise.

Microsoft Windows is a sieve. I wonder if one day she’ll be able to sue Microsoft for damages.

The courts just don’t understand technology – the whole court system, lawyers, juries and sadly often police. The defendant’s attorney as you note also performed poorly.

More on the story from Computer Security Online. Step-by-step details that make me wonder who the heck was this woman’s lawyer.

And if you aren’t familiar with the Genarlow Wilson story, you should be. Read about it.

I just don’t get it – there is still something seriously wrong with the electorate to favor Lieberman given his support of Bush and the Iraq war.
