The US Government is easing up in its fight against corporate crime. There is pressure on regulators to step back, the rise in the Dow Jones has eased some of the anger towards corporations, and there is less pressure from the courts.

Why do law, accounting and consulting firms break the law? Why is it that some firms go off the rails when others manage to stay on the straight and narrow? A study shows that auditors are much less likely than other professionals to engage in client-centered misconduct like overbilling. Lawyers are bad.

      Fear of America's Cities

      Posted by Villagenyc from OpEdNews

The "most dangerous" rankings, tend to be simplistic and incomplete. Beyond the irresponsibility of broadcasting shrill messages that fail to detail crucial criminal science and sociological factors in each of these unique places, especially the story behind the poverty that leads to high crime rates, is the fact that the lists actually help divide us as a nation, and that is more dangerous than Downtown Detroit

The Simplistic and Divisive List of Dangerous Cities

Beyond the irresponsibility of broadcasting shrill messages that fail to detail crucial criminal science and sociological factors in each of these unique places, especially the story behind the poverty that leads some cities to high crime rates, is the fact that the lists actually divide us as a nation, and in a number of ways, that is more dangerous than Downtown Detroit at midnight.

      Policing virtual crime

      Posted by SoxFirst

Imagine a world where millions of dollars can flow through the system daily, a world where all these exchanges can happen anonymously, where there are no police, courts and extradition laws. Perfect spot for people to steal and launder money? But how do you regulate the virtual world?

I think as Obama continues to do well – we will see more and more crazy stuff perpetrated by 1% of 1% of the craziest of this country.

this happened about 40 miles from my home. . .it’s more proof that racism in this country is just as strong and virulent as ever; it’s merely sublimated.  me, ah’m jes’ the po’ ol’ sonuvashahcroppah. . .but i remember a few things. . .

think about it. . .immigration was no problem, except in california in the early-mid 90’s. . .we laughed it off. . .and then came the big boogeyman:  911.

people got scared, as they always do.  everyone who wasn’t white-and many who werewere targeted.  and the most visible nonwhite population includes hispanic immigrants.  fifteen years ago it was calculated that the southwestincluding texaswould be precominantly hispanic around this time.

since virtually no terrorists have been foundnone that can be proven as terrorists-nonwhites make great scapegoats.  and the good old boy gets to indulge in all his racial fantasies.  911 allowed everyone to indulge their hidden racism.  muslims. . .hispanics. . .blacks. . .

it won’t end for at least another 400 years. . .
