      Senate unanimously urged President George W. Bush to take swift action to stop the genocide that the United States says is occurring in Sudan, and pressed for NATO to send troops and enforce a no-fly zone in the Darfur region.

      Who would have thought that a genocide could become worse? But after two years of heartbreaking slaughter, rape and mayhem, the situation in Darfur is now spiraling downward.

    Yeah, you’re right about that, but unlike other communist dictatorships China is allowing westernization and capitalism in at the edges. The USSR collapsed, and Venezuela is heading that way, because they didn’t allow it.

    I think it will be interesting to see how that evolves, especially as illegal internet access starts to creep in around the edges.

    It’s a wonder that there are still people in the west singing the virtues of communism. Some of them teach in and run our colleges and Universities.

    Communist dictatorship suppresses dissent.

    What’s the matter, you thought the Chinese government was nice?

    Think of the most oppressive government action you can.

    Then check to see if China has done it.

    You’ll find it has.

    Well, it’s China. Is anyone surprised by this?

    I think that as time goes on China will find it increasing hard to keep that iron lock on society and still allow modernization. It will be interesting see see how that resolves.
