    • Good news! Black hole won't destroy Earth

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

This potential "black hole factory" has raised fears that a stray black hole could devour our planet whole. Potentially Habitable Planet Found

Posted by Jeff from AP News

For the first time astronomers have discovered a planet outside our solar system that is potentially habitable, with Earth-like temperatures, a find researchers described Tuesday as a big step in the search for "life in the universe." Bill McKibben, who sounded the alarm two decades ago with his landmark book The End of Nature, reviews the damage and points the way forward. The x-factor in preventing catastrophe, he says, will be whether the American public—with its financial and cultural power to move mountains—sort of gets it, or really gets it.
