its so shamful he is now going to fight presidential seat at this time news like this so shocking. i think he should quit now.

Oral sex in the Oval office is not appropriate but for any ex-politician who is not holding office it is no ones business but the parties envolved.

"Is it the public’s business? I guess that depends on how their actions effect their job in office. While I don’t think we should have TV cameras in their bedrooms, ther rest of their lives are public, like it or not". I agree but only to the extent they are representing the public.

I wholeheartedly ajgree with your comments. My statement of "It’s their business and not the publics any more does not imply I agree with his actions. They are despicable but none of our business unless he isw in office. Only then should he be judged by his actions. His action (adultery) has yet to be oulawed.

Just because Americans want to look  into celebrity bedrooms doesn’t mean that it’s RIGHT, moral or appropriate information in a political candidate for any office.

Of course, Obama et al used America’s pre-occupation with other peoples’ sex lives to their advantage in his Senate race—recall that they pushed the MSM to break the in-no-way-relevant story on his Democratic opponent (who was winning the nomination battle until that point).

Spitzer was charged with an antiquated law—one as stupid, IMO, as the old laws preventing interracial marriage—that made it illegal to purchase ex when the woman travels across state lines. No one in the DC Madam case got that federal law thrown at them—and DC is across the state line from Virginia. Spiter crossed one too many entrenched honchos ….

I’m not "excusing" their behavior … a lot of male politicians seem to have a problem keeping their zipper up … but I don’t think sex between consenting adults is any of MY business.

The info in your graph about the NYT is meaningless …. waffle word -> "might" ... and how do we know that other staffer isn’t jealous?

The NYT coverage today alluded to Edwards possibly keeping her on the payroll inappropriately with a high salary for too long as a videographer – one staff member called the video content garbage. I think his behavior in this matter are fair issues. Just think if this was govt funds.

Also, since much of the American voting populace remains concerned about marriage and fidelity – I think this behavior deserves coverage. Although perhaps it would be nice to live in France where this sort of thing gets shrugged off and ignored.

As for prostitution, Spitzer is alleged to have tried to conceal the purpose of wire transfers repeatedly to cover up his actions. And there are issues of whether prostitution truly is a victimless crime – the research seems to say it isn’t.
