      Michelle Obama Charms Colbert

      Posted by Shemuses from Thecaucus.blogs.nytimes

"Everybody knows you and your husband are elitists," Mr. Colbert said right off the bat. "Tell me about your elite upbringing on the South Side of Chicago. How many silver spoons in your mouth?" "We had four spoons," deadpanned Mrs. Obama during her late night talk show debut. She added: "And then my father got a raise at the plant, and we had five spoons."

Film: Where is Osama bin Laden?

      Posted by Jeff from Feeds.feedburner

Nicole showed some of this some weeks ago as it was going through the film festival circuit, but it’s opening wide this weekend. Morgan Spurlock, the genius who brought you “Super Size Me,” now brings us “Where in the World is Osama bin Laden?”, a side-splitting quest to hunt down the world’s number one most-wanted man.

George W Bush Sewage Plant In S.F., With Your HELP

      Posted by j1o2n3a4s5

To dishonor George W. Bush, the Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco is changing the name of the Oceanside Wastewater Treatment Facility. The group would like to rename the facility to the "George W Bush Sewage Plant." Write In! If we can't get the overdue rightful impeachment or immediate war crimes tribunals this is a helpful start.

Barenaked Ladies singer faces drug charge in N.Y.

wow. the police look into the house, see them using drugs and arrest them. them there is hard core drug enforcement policy. i feel a lot safer knowing that Steven is locked up and in the criminal justice system.

America’s Porn Culture -- Corporate drive for profits is damaging girls

Our whole culture has become sexualized, and the demand is equally on men as well as women.  While this may not be healthy, I don’t think it’s particularly new- think back to the 70s, "free love"- the argument that the sexualization of our culture is a result of the porn industry strikes me as poorly rationalized and uninformed.

Nothing remarkable. I have worked in the hospitality industry most of my life. My interests tend to be of things spiritual, about science, the fringes of knowledge, chess, and computer programming to name a few.
