Europe's going green (that's due to lack of snow) | This is London

      Posted by Jeff from Thisislondon.c

Via RawStory: In the Alps, the warm weather has meant one of the worst starts to the ski season on record. Dozens of races have been cancellled and many tourists arriving for their skiing holiday have been greeted by brown fields with not a patch of snow in sight. Last month temperatures were at times 15 degrees higher than normal.

It's sometimes said a vacation is what you take when you can't take what you've been taking any longer. This was exactly the kind of motivation that prompted travel writer Tamar Kevonian to take her first “solo” vacation in Europe.

    • Bush Using Iran to Justify New "Star Wars" Program

Posted by Damianmann from Truth Out

The Bush administration is moving to establish a new antimissile site in Europe that would be designed to stop attacks by Iran against the United States and its European allies. The proposed antimissile site is the latest chapter in the long-running saga of the United States missile defense program, which began with President Reagan's expansive vision of a space-based antimissile shield.

Adolf Hitler doll which comes with a change of clothes - and a spare head with a kind face

Prominent European media outlets recently circulated false reports of an Adolf Hitler doll being made in Ukraine. Ukrainian journalist Yevgeny Minko said he was disappointed with how the erroneous story was handled.

DW-WORLD.DE was among the European media sources to publish the falsified report on its English site in April 2008. It has since been removed from the Web site. The editors apologize to those readers who were offended by the publication of the article.
