  I was disappointed by his decision but it's a good reminder that the office of President isn't one you need to fill with a left-oriented person as much as a moderate. Although I look forward to the day when Feingold's politics are centrist.

- Feingold introduces amendment to redeploy troops by end of year

  Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) today introduced an amendment to an emergency supplemental appropriations bill currently being considered to fund ongoing military operations in Iraq demanding redeployment of U.S. troops currently in Iraq by the end of 2006. This is the third time Feingold has introduced or taken part in writing legislation requesting a troop drawback.

They say that his move had the potential to derail Democratic efforts to strengthen the party's image on homeland security issues, noting that a large part of the country believes the eavesdropping program should continue. In fact, polls show the country is largely against the eavesdropping program.
