Florida activist, candidate charged with felony wiretapping

      Posted by Jeff from Rawstory

He didn't do anything a newspaper reporter doesn't do every day. It's absurd," Thomas said. "While he was being arrested, the editor of a newspaper was in there audiotaping this." A third person, Green Party representative Michael Canney, was also present making audiotapes. Canney and Grapski have been threatened with additional charges, but the newspaper editor has not, Thomas said.

    • Harris wins nomination in Florida Senate race

Posted by Billbar from Washington Post

The U.S. congresswoman won about 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary election and will face a tough battle against incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in the November general election, whom she trails by more than 30 points in voter opinion polls. Pundits said the Republican establishment was unlikely to rally round their nominee in the general election. "If she runs and she loses badly then they're kind of done with her," said Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker. "Sometimes in politics you're better off just letting somebody ride off the cliff and into oblivion."

    • Four friends charged in beating death of homeless man in Miami

Posted by Billbar from Sun Sentinel

Angry over a homeless man's catcall, four friends went on a "feeding frenzy," police said, beating the elderly man to death with a metal chair, a steel rebar, a rock and a wooden stick. Two men accused in Saturday's attack are the sons of Christian clergymen. All four have been charged with second-degree murder. "This was pure bloodlust," said Miami police spokesman Lt. Bill Schwartz. "There was no reason for this."

Oh boy. The election season is heating up in Florida, and love is in the air. Love, that is, between Republican U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris and the NRA. Apparently, Harris’ poll numbers aren’t doing so well, so– whoops– it just so happens to be time to renew her concealed weapons permit.

It doesn’t matter if he lets her have these. She still can’t win. It’s all a farce

This is clear evidence that some voters are totally stupid.
