It's a new law called the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, and it is worded in a clever way that could allow the U.S. government to arrest and incarcerate any individual who speaks out against the Bush Administration, the war on Iraq, the Department of Homeland Security or any government agency (including the FDA)

  'The US vs. John Lennon' chronicles the egregious lengths the US gov't went to in order to silence an artist who had the audacity to speak out. Of course, Lennon came from an age when artists did that sort of thing, and he wasn't the only one to get on the authorities' nerves. But we don't live in that world anymore...

In a case that raises questions about free speech, the Marines have launched investigations of three inactive reservists for wearing their uniforms during anti-war protests and allegedly making statements characterized as "disrespectful" or "disloyal."

  Wolf's lawyer Martin Garbus said: "Josh has released the videotape on his website and a copy has been sent to the district attorney. He had refused to identify anyone in the videotape." On his website, Wolf says he repeatedly offered to allow a judge to view the unpublished footage but was refused. Watch the video

  IAPA said the imprisonment of Wolf and use of subpoenas to try to force testimony of San Francisco Chronicle reporters Mark Fainaru-Wada and Lance Williams violates the Declaration of Chapultepec, a press freedom document created by IAPA. Numerous heads of state in the hemisphere have signed the declaration including U.S. President Bill Clinton in 1995.
