  Some interesting though not very meaningful data on the state of the 2008 race. Clinton leads Obama by 20 points, but the campaign has yet to start. McCain has his work cut out for him...all of the GOP does.

  A new USA Today/Gallup poll finds nearly two in three Americans believing the current escalation of U.S. troops in Baghdad "has not made much difference or has actually made the situation there worse," Gallup reports today. And more than half also say that, once we begin to remove troops from the region, "insurgents will step up their attacks in Baghdad and Iraqi security forces will not be able to control the violence."
