  Remember those awful Microsoft ads with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates? Well, now you can forget them. Microsoft flacks are desperately dialing reporters to spin them about "phase two" of the ad campaign - a phase, due to be announced tomorrow, which will drop the aging comic altogether. Microsoft's version of the story: Redmond had always planned to drop Seinfeld.

  Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation is in talks with Microsoft about joining in its contested bid for Yahoo, according to people involved in the discussions. The combination, which would join Yahoo, Microsoft's MSN and News Corporation's MySpace, would create a behemoth that would upend the Internet landscape.

Gates seemed to laugh before he answered the question about whether more H1B visa workers depress wages in the U.S. The laugh seems like a tell to me i.e. he’s lying.

I honestly never would have predicted such thinking from BG several years ago.

What I want to see now is the staunch capitalist’s response to such thinking. Maybe the Economist will have something (dismissive and venomous, as usual) to say about it…

I agree jeff coughing up more cash is not the best strategy, wars cost money and the longer this one goes on the more it will cost unfortunatley
