    • Bill Richardson makes it short, sweet and brutal

      Posted by VincebusEruptum from Jazz-from-hell.blogspot

Gov. Richardson released a statement re: the recent intel estimate that says Iran shelved their nuclear weapons program years ago, an assessment which differs greatly from what Bush, Cheney, and various neocons chihuahuas have yapped of late and insist on even now. The key bit of Richardson's very brief statement...

So the Senate caved into Lieberman's wish to attack Iran at will with a bipartisan vote. Oh, I know, it's non-binding and not an actual declaration of war, and they amended some of the language. But you should know how these things go by now. This has given Bush the political justification, however flimsy, to execute 'Operation Bomb the Ragheads II: Git that Amadajad Feller.'

Sydney split by fence to keep protesters away from world leaders at APEC

      Posted by VincebusEruptum from Scholarsandrogues.wordpress

Apparently it's an honour for Sydney to be chosen to host the APEC summit in three weeks time, bringing together more than 20 world leaders, including President Bush. Kucinich’s political ideologies remind me tons of New Democratic party leader Jack Layton’s many stances – especially in opposition to military-based foreign policy and on environmental issues. Both seem stuck fighting against a corporate complex that has (always held) both major parties held in its grip; the obvious difference being that the NDP isn’t one of our two “major parties”, which might explain why Layton has been a bit more successful in forcing policy changes among the Big Guys.

This doesn’t mean I’m advocating that DK go Independent. If anything, I’m suggesting he move to Canada and join the NDP. _
