Posted by Jeff from New York Times

The Jan. 9, 2006, e-mail message, written by D. Gonzales aide Goodling resigns

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

"I am hereby submitting my resignation to the office of attorney general," Monica M. Goodling said in a three-sentence letter. There was no immediate reason given for her departure, but Goodling's refusal to face Congress intensified a controversy that threatens Gonzales' job.

    • The anti-democratic agenda behind the US attorney firings

      Posted by Sandyenglish

It is becoming increasingly clear that the firing of eight US attorneys was part of an illegal conspiracy whose principle aim was to maintain Republican power by suppressing the votes of working class and minority voters and using trumped-up voter-fraud prosecutions to manipulate elections and reverse close ones that went to the Democrats.

    • Gonzales keeps to himself, even in adversity

      Posted by Jeff from Kansascity

A very detailed biographical sketch of the pro-torture attorney general Gonzales: "In January 2000, while Gonzales sat on the Texas Supreme Court, his sister Theresa and an accomplice were arrested in a Houston-area drug bust in which police seized 40 grams of cocaine, nearly a pound of marijuana, more than $3,000 in cash, an assault rifle, a sawed off shotgun and a .50 caliber handgun, plus several hundred rounds of ammunition." Lots more inside.

Will White House sacrifice Gonzales to save Rove?

I think if Goodling gets immunity, Gonzales is likely to resign.

Bush opposes English as national language

I have no problem with this. Iet WOULD be helpful to have a multi-lingual country by law., Iguess. It's already a multi-lingual country.
