    • The Justice Dept.'s Guide to Hunting and Fishing in Cyberspace

Posted by Billbar from Truth Out

The Justice Department is making this baldfaced grab of Google internet search data to try to prop up an online pornography law that has been blocked once by the Supreme Court. And it's not the first time we've seen this sort of behavior. The government has zealously protected the Patriot Act's power to examine library records. It sought the private medical histories of a selected group of women, saying it needed the information to defend the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act in the federal courts. Had Google not resisted the government's attempt to seize records, would the public have ever found about the request?

eBay To Disallow Checks and Money Orders In US

eBay has gone completely down the tubes. Meg Whitman gave a completely crock of s*** speech at the GOP convention. Her belief system may have been profitable thus far for ebay, but I suspect it’s heading downhill from here.

This seems fairly limited and lame to me. Facebook is still way ahead.

Google's Shareholders Vote to Continue Censorship in China

yeah…I agree the we may seem a bit much. But, then, I don’t see too many people up in arms over it either…therefore, "we" isn’t too far off.

“So much attention is paid to the aggressive sins, such as violence and cruelty and greed with all their tragic effects, that too little attention is paid to the passive sins, such as apathy and laziness, which in the long run can have a more devastating effect.
