On the Goss resignation: “The turf-battle line is purely a cover story,” said a former CIA official I spoke with. “The reason they had to act now was because they were scared about what's going to come out about [the Cunningham scandal].”

Meanwhile, I double-checked with my sources regarding who attended Wilkes’s parties, and all of them repeated what they had said before: over the years, at least six former and current members of Congress were said to have been at events sponsored by Wilkes, and their names have apparently been provided to investigators in the Cunningham case.

      CIA boss Goss is cooked

Posted by Billbar from New York Daily News

CIA Director Porter Goss abruptly resigned yesterday amid allegations that he and a top aide may have attended Watergate poker parties where bribes and prostitutes were provided to a corrupt congressman.

      Porter Goss' spooky demise

      Posted by Billbar from Salon

Normally under Bush, promoted-above-your-abilities incompetence is not a firing offense unless, of course, you drown an entire city. For those practiced in connecting the dots, little artistic training is needed to speculatively link Goss' here's-your-hat-what's-your-hurry departure with the bribery scandal surrounding jailed former GOP Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham.

CIA to TNR: Goss Exit Unrelated to Foggo

      Posted by Billbar from Tpmmuckraker

A unnamed CIA spokesman says Goss's resignation is "totally separate" from the controversy surrounding CIA Executive Director/former procurement official Dusty Foggo's longtime friendship with defense/intelligence contractor Brent Wilkes. . . *cough*

      Hookers

Follow the connections that lead from 'Duke' Cunningham to Brent Wilkes and Mitchell Wade to 'Dusty' Foggo - who was appointed the #3 post at the CIA by Director Goss after meeting him through the ‘hospitality suites’ - moveable feast of food, poker and love run by Wilkes.

What happened to the media's love of sex scandals?

I watched the NewsHour on PBS Friday hoping for something in-depth. Nope. Heck, they barely even mentioned that Goss resigned without a replacement ready for him. Helen Thomas has a new book out about the MSM. It's mentioned at Crooks and Liars: http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/05/06.html#a8186

    CIA chief Goss quits

I think he resigned because he has been connected to hookergate.
