      Bush Redefines the Word Genocide

Posted by JXC from Guardian UK

Not satisfied with redefining "torture," the President urged Congress to reject a resolution recognizing the 1915 murder of Armenians as "genocide": "This resolution is not the right response to these historic mass killings." Isn’t genocide the "mass killing" of a group? No, because Turkey is our ally and this 'resolution would do "great harm" to relations'. Imagine if we used such logic to oppose a condemnation of Nazism for the Jewish Holocaust. It's embarrassing.
