      Amid all of the positive hype that surrounded Britney Spears guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother, Neil Patrick Harris rose to the forefront with his minority view. He has since attempted to clarify what he really meant. CBS may have had somthing to do with his sudden attempts at damage control.

    • Feds question another former Harris campaign manager

      Jim Dornan spoke to FBI and Defense Department investigators in Washington for about 90 minutes Thursday. Dornan, left Harris' staff in November, one of many managers and staff members who have defected from the mistake and strife-ridden campaign. The Department of Justice would not comment, a policy it maintains on pending investigations. Harris has been in the spotlight for her dealings with Mitchell Wade, a defense contractor who pleaded guilty to bribing a California congressman and admitted funneling $32,000 in illegal donations to Harris. She later said she gave the money to charity. Dornan was not Harris' campaign manager when she accepted the donations.

      The U.S. congresswoman won about 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary election and will face a tough battle against incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in the November general election, whom she trails by more than 30 points in voter opinion polls. Pundits said the Republican establishment was unlikely to rally round their nominee in the general election. "If she runs and she loses badly then they're kind of done with her," said Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker. "Sometimes in politics you're better off just letting somebody ride off the cliff and into oblivion."
