FAIR - By (no name provided) - Romney's error was serious--as Begala said on CNN, "If this were a general election debate, [it] would be a disqualifier." But if the press were to admit that rewriting of recent history was cause for alarm, they might have to acknowledge that George W. Bush has done the same thing. On July 14, 2003, Bush declared of Saddam Hussein, "We gave him a chance to allow the inspectors in, and he wouldn't let them in... NewsTrust Rating: 4.1 average (3 reviews) - Rate It...

    Saddam Hussein executed

Paul, for me it’s about coming face to face with our government’s (and our tax dollars) funded activities. I feel disgusted by this execution – in part because it’s just another failure of George Bush to see the difference between justice and injustice, democracy and chaos. Whatever you think of Sadaam, he faced hanging bravely – and the hooded masks of the executioners made them look like cowards. All in all – I see this whole event as another failure of U.S. imperialism. Good for Haliburton and none of us.

    Saddam Hussein executed

I don’t see this as a victory. Admittedly, this man was a horrible monster. His sons were low-rent criminals. But, I think we could raise the bar a little and maybe show we’re more civilized.
I don’t feel bad that he’s gone. But. I feel bad.

As an American I take no satisfaction in the execution of someone who didn’t receive a fair trial.
