    • How Immigrants Saved Social Security

Posted by Shemuses from New York Times

Immigration is good for the financial health of Social Security because more workers mean more tax revenue. Illegal immigration, it turns out, is even better than legal immigration. In the fine print of the 2008 annual report on Social Security, released last week, the program’s trustees noted that growing numbers of “other than legal” workers are expected to bolster the program over the coming decades.

    • Blacks Against Immigrants? Don’t Believe the Conservative Hype

      Posted by Shemuses

There’s a corrosive idea currently being spread by the conservative right. Designed to enlist African Americans in a race battle against immigrants by intentionally exploiting current economic anxieties, The Manhattan Institute’s recent publication of “The Rainbow Coalition Evaporates,” by Steven Malanga, argues that black people are fed up with illegal immigrants taking their jobs, committing crime in their neighborhoods, and messing up their schools. Before this toxic narrative seeps further down into the public debate, it’s important to set the record straight on the Manhattan Institute and their opposition to a policy agenda that promotes the best interests of Black, Latino and White communities alike.

NPR: Bill Gates Targets Visa Rules for Tech Workers

      Posted by Jeff from NPR

The Programmers Guild, a professional society, also criticizes Gates for facilitating the erosion of U.S. competitiveness by using the H1-B program to "train a critical mass of foreign workers within the U.S." and then using "these workers to establish overseas operations."

Illegal Immigration Spurs Constitutional Amendment - Associated Content

An art. V was tried in Sept. of 2004, and s.c.o.t.u.s. ruled it was ok for the congress to not allow it…so, the entire Congress was sued, and hired the Govt. to defend them..they again lost.

However, it has now proved to be a criminal act ,in that they had basically admitted to it by defending themselves…...

It appears now that there are a few new approaches to the Art. V , but not to many Attny’s are willing to stick their necks out fighting our own CROOKED govt.

please read the article on WALKER vs theU.S….probably find it in google….

B.C. apologizes for Komagata Maru incident

I’m all for political correctness under most circumstances, but this one kind of reeks of political pandering to me. And misplaced pandering, at that. Why apologise now for that incident, when a whole bunch of injustices perpetrated to two larger Asian immigrant populations in BC – the Chinese and Japanese – remain unanswered? Were earlier apologies for specific incidents supposed to be blanket apologies?

NPR: Bill Gates Targets Visa Rules for Tech Workers

NPR let Gates dodge most of the questions refusing to follow up or request him to answer the question they asked. Gates kept returning to his talking points.

Microsoft | Revamp visa system, Gates urges Congress | Seattle Times Newspaper

Gates seemed to laugh before he answered the question about whether more H1B visa workers depress wages in the U.S. The laugh seems like a tell to me i.e. he’s lying.
