      Sporting goods firm Nike and computer company Apple, two of the world's best-known brands will release a system that links Nike running shoes to Apple's iPod nano digital music players. As well as listening to music, users would be able to see how far and how fast they have run, and the amount of calories they have burnt.

      Jobs and Apple are pitching the iPod Hi-Fi as a $349 replacement for the home stereo system. And indeed, the audio quality is very respectable for a small set of speakers in a single box, even if it's not quite on the level of a full traditional home entertainment system.

    If it were a Microsoft product, the wireless mighty mouse would play music and blend daquiris and be completely unusable.
