Lebanon on brink of civil war

      Posted by Sandyenglish

Lebanon stands on the brink of all-out civil war. A general strike by the leading trade union to protest rising prices and demand an increase in the minimum wage has led to armed conflict between the pro-Western Sunni and Druze-based government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and the Shia-based Hezbollah and its ally, Amal.

      Conservatives Happier Than Liberals

Posted by theangryindian from Live Science

Regardless of marital status, income or church attendance, right-wing individuals reported greater life satisfaction and well-being than left-wingers, the new study found. Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person's tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities.

How Google Earth is Trying to Wipe Israel Off the Map

No offense, but this entry is nonsense.  So is pretending that indigenous Palestinian Arabs do not exist and have no right to exist in thier own ancestral lands.  If the Ashkenazim can morally make a claim to a territory they departed in 70 CE due to European invasion and colonialisation, then all other displaced peoples, including North American Aboriginals, should be accorded the very same rights.

    Israel-Hamas truce announced

The religious had always relations with the Hamas. A strong Hamas, a weak OLP {niet anymore: the OLP is now strong again in  cis jordan), or the possibility to reunify again the two side in a democratic process like in Maroco, for exemple. Where is  the interest of Israel ? what are the rules of the game ? War and trouble is never good for Israel.

Obama blasts Bush over 'Nazi' comments

If it ever does hit him…which, maybe in his elderly years…when no one will talk to him, it will break him. He has to be made to see the direct effects of his policies. I don’t know how that can be done. I suppose if he were to be put on trial…

Perhaps if the GOP and half of Congress didn’t enable his delusions, he might have some self-doubt.

Jon, I just don’t think it’s going to hit him. He’s so detached – it’s so clinical. I don’t expect it to ever hit home.
