New York Magazine this week publishes a piece by the New Republic's Ryan Lizza that has sadly become the standard fare in today's political journalism - a fawning, breathless, desperate-to-be-loved-and-accepted-by-the-elite profile not only of the reporter's subject, but of the entire diseased Washington culture.

      Jill Carroll statement

Posted by Billbar from Christian Science Monitor

I want to express my deep appreciation to all the people who worked so long and hard for my release. I am humbled by the sympathy and support expressed by so many people during my kidnapping. Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views.

If there is one decent quality about Bush it is his recognition of what vile rats the DC punditocracy are. Whether it is Peggy Noonan or Maureen Dowd, Brit Hume or Alan Colmes, Paul Begala or Mary Matalin...I can't stand any of them.

I-35W bridge downed by design flaw; infrastructure issues fade from headlines

Thanks for bringing up this issue—here are some thoughts that are not about “gusset plates”

Extremely low frequency, or ELF, waves can be used for submarine communications and for probing the planet; because of the way they propagate, HAARP can cover “a significant fraction of the Earth.” The waves can be used for “seabed exploration” and even locating mines underwater, not to mention “underground target detection.”

Sorcha Faal reported at the times of the bridge collapse there was a small tremor registered by the Russians the bridge is two or three miles from the center of a HAARP experimental center

Russian Intelligence Analysts are reporting in the Kremlin today that Britain%u2019s Prime Minister, Gordon Brown and numerous leaders of the United Kingdom%u2019s business community were %u2018targeted%u2019 in a failed assassination attempt which instead of downing the aircraft due to take the British Leader on his first state visit to China instead brought down a British Airways 777 upon its landing approach to London%u2019s Heathrow Airport.

According to these reports, Prime Minister Brown%u2019s flight to China was delayed due to British billionaire Sir Richard Branson%u2019s late arrival at Heathrow, as he was one of the many business leaders accompanying Brown to China, and which allowed the British Airways 777 flight from China to land first.

But, upon the British Airway 777%u2019s attempt to land, and as examined by Russian Military Scientists, a %u2018non-nuclear micro-burst%u2019 electromagnetic pulse (EMP) was %u2018fired%u2019 which then caused a catastrophic engine failure due to loss of power causing that flight to plunge to the ground prior to reaching the runway,Reported by Sorcha Faal http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1063.htm

In 2003, then Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld signed a document called the Information Operation Roadmap which outlined, among other things, the Pentagon’s desire to dominate the entire electromagnetic spectrum.

If you are unfamiliar with this document, more detail can be found here.

I hope this is true -- it would be really nice to have Paul Krugman's columns back on the free internets!
