      The litany of complaints about the legal treatment of prisoners at Guantánamo Bay is long, disturbing and by now familiar. Nonetheless, a new wave of shock and criticism greeted the Pentagon's announcement on February 11 that it was charging six Guantánamo detainees, including alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, with war crimes - and seeking the death penalty for all of them.

      Police in Surrey, B.C., have begun to stake out fast food drive-thru windows in hopes of catching impaired drivers with the late-night munchies. Project WULF — an acronym for Would U Like Fries — was launched after police heard numerous comments from restaurant staff about the number of impaired drivers that frequent fast food drive-thrus.

    • West Virginia Torture Case a Legal Circus

      What started out as one of the most horrendous racial rape/torture cases in recent memory, has now devolved into a legal circus, as the prosecutor in charge of the Megan Williams case, and the West Virginia State Attorney General, are engaged in a very public power struggle not only over the issue of whether hate crime charges should be leveled, but which office will actually try the case if it ever goes to trial.
