      Katie Couric: CNNs Next Larry King?

      Katie Couric has been at the CBS news anchor post for 19 months and the realization has finally set in with network executives that she is not the shot in the arm they need. The $15 million dollar a year gig was to last until 2011 but The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Couric will step down in January 2009. What will she do next? She may well take over at CNN for the retiring Larry King.

      Declaring that airport screeners shouldn't be hampered by "political correctness," House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King has endorsed requiring people of "Middle Eastern and South Asian" descent to undergo additional security checks because of their ethnicity and religion.
