  Despite assurances to the contrary from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Democratic insiders are certain Sen. Joseph Lieberman next year will be kicked out of the party's caucus and lose his Senate chairmanship if he addresses the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., as planned.

  Rather than building the bridges The Day expected when it endorsed Sen. Lieberman, he appears busy burning bridges with the party of which he is allegedly still a member. Perhaps the senator is positioning himself for a top cabinet post in a McCain presidency. But if the Democrats prevail, and enlarge their control of the Senate, it is hard to imagine this Connecticut senator being welcomed back with open arms.

  In the end, all the non-believers - Jews, Muslims, Hindus, mainline Christians, etc. - must convert or suffer the torture of eternal damnation. Over a dozen CUFI members eagerly revealed to me their excitement at the prospect of Armageddon occurring tomorrow. Among the rapture ready was Republican Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. Lieberman was there too.

  Lieberman is such a complete wad: "I wouldn't rule [a switch to the GOP] out," Leiberman says to O'Donnell, adding that "my real hope here is to stay and fight for the kind of Democratic Party I joined when John F. Kennedy was president." He also says that he could support a Republican pro-war presidential candidate.

Addressing the Republican convention would be in the true spirit of "reaching across the aisle"... republicans have been doing it for years and it would be a welcome change.

IT IS NO SECRET THAT LIEBERMAN HAS AN "ISRAEL FIRST" AGENDA AND THAT HE HAS NO PROBLEM LETTING THE AMERICAN SOLDIERS DIE AND THE U.S. SPEND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN IRAQ BECAUSE THEN ISRAEL DOESN’T HAVE TO. I just don’t get it – there is still something seriously wrong with the electorate to favor Lieberman given his support of Bush and the Iraq war.
