      A Hole in McCain’s Defense?

      Posted by Jeff from Newsweek

A sworn deposition that Sen. John McCain gave in a lawsuit more than five years ago appears to contradict one part of a sweeping denial that his campaign issued this week to rebut a New York Times story about his ties to a Washington lobbyist.

      McCain's Ethics

      Posted by robynoratocom

John McCain, like George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Hillary Clinton, and probably the majority of elected officials in Washington, is willing to tell the American people flat-out, demonstrable lies if he thinks it will serve his purposes.

McCain: Lobbyist reports a ‘not true’

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

Sen. John McCain, responding to published reports suggesting an inappropriate relationship with a female lobbyist, said in a Thursday press conference that the allegations were "not true" and denied a romantic relationship with her.

More Perfect: Creating a More Perfect Union

To reach the conclusion that McCain "won," Esser is counting the stated preferences of elected delegates. But, as we've seen, delegates were not appointed based on preference. So, the stated preference of delegates is a meaningless metric. In summation, it may very well be that Huckabee won Washington State. Or maybe McCain won. At this point, we have no way of knowing. What we do know is this: Luke Esser is willfully mispresenting the results of the Washington State Republican Caucuses.

"Cindy cradles little Bridget, a baby she and John adopted in 1993 from Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh. Bridget has been a great blessing to the McCain family," the mailing says. "Today, Cindy and John work together to promote adoption and to help women facing crisis pregnancies."

    • Obama Leads Four Republicans in U.S. Race

      Posted by Jeff from angus-reid.com

Democrat Barack Obama is the top 2008 presidential contender in the United States, according to a poll by Zogby International. At least 46 per cent of respondents would support the Illinois senator in head-to-head contests against four prospective Republican nominees.

I also agreed completely with Nathalie’s initial remark. Everything I said can be verified, as well. Polling provides data that needs to be taken with a large grain of salt. Questions are very carefully worded and sometimes the samples are carefully fudged.

Of course, the results are equally carefully interpreted.

As far as the other remarks, well… Since all expressions of political opinion are "partisan attacks" then yes, that’s what it was.

The McCain Residences: A Google Earth Tour

Will he then follow up with Al Gore’s residences? John Edwards? Various other Pols? In California, if you don’t pay your property taxes then you have a certain amount of time to get caught up, and pay the penalties. Otherwise you lose the property. So it’s not an issue because he’ll pay more in the end.

    Pretty cool residences, though.

I made an unaligned observation, whose content can be verified. Koroth made a partisan attack with no substantiation other than "I believe."

Very true, however Zogby is more reliable than polls from the news agencies. CBS in particular, I believe, does very poor polling.

That McCain is pulling ahead of Obama, despite the love affair (and resulting free publicity) of the press for Obama really shows how lacking in substance Obama really is.

I’m sure CNN and the others will do their best to overcome that issue.

You can’t trust the Zogby polls because their methodology includes self-selected participants.  Always consider others when assessing.

Funny joke, not. And when Bush leaves office, we’re all going to wake up and say, where is that marvelous president.

Yeah, well, I for one and firmly okay with a center-left president and a progressive Congress brought in with his/her coattails ;)
