      It's something of...

      Posted by Jeff from Feeds.feedburner

It's something of an open secret on the Hill, but Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) temper can be so explosive, it tends to alienate friend and foe alike. Consider yesterday's brouhaha over the new immigration-reform package. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) hasn't spent much time in the Capitol this year as he seeks the GOP presidential nomination. But one of his rare appearances this week provided a...

McCain's IED Joke With Jon Stewart Draws Criticism

Posted by Jeff from Gallatin News Examiner

"What do you want to start with, the bomb Iran song or the walk through the market in Baghdad?" Stewart asked McCain, referring to two recent controversies involving statements by the Arizona senator. "I think maybe shopping in Baghdad," McCain responded. "... I had something picked out for you, too - a little IED (improvised explosive device) to put on your desk."

McCain Sings "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" at campaign speech

      Posted by Jeff from Zwire

This will make the Daily Show tonight: Another man — wondering if an attack on Iran is in the works — wanted to know when America is going to “send an air mail message to Tehran.” McCain began his answer by changing the words to a popular Beach Boys song. “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran,” he sang to the tune of Barbara Ann.

A Sunday Stroll in Iraq's Capital

      Posted by Jeff

I think it should be pointed out that McCain and his fellow senators were accompanied to the market by a small army, upwards of 50 soldiers according to a source who accompanied the group on the stroll. Just another day at the market. AND the report doesn't mention ... the market was closed at both ends by American troops ... Blackhawk helicopters flew overhead ... Madness! What a waste of our taxpayer dollars! I say let McCain go for his stroll unprotected...

    • Hacking John McCain

      Posted by lisa

McCain commandeered a Newsvine founder's MySpace template, so the Newsvine guy commandeered McCain's MySpace page. A gay-marriage policy flip-flop ensued. Good fun.

I also agreed completely with Nathalie’s initial remark. Everything I said can be verified, as well. Polling provides data that needs to be taken with a large grain of salt. Questions are very carefully worded and sometimes the samples are carefully fudged.

Of course, the results are equally carefully interpreted.

As far as the other remarks, well… Since all expressions of political opinion are "partisan attacks" then yes, that’s what it was.

The McCain Residences: A Google Earth Tour

Will he then follow up with Al Gore’s residences? John Edwards? Various other Pols? In California, if you don’t pay your property taxes then you have a certain amount of time to get caught up, and pay the penalties. Otherwise you lose the property. So it’s not an issue because he’ll pay more in the end.

    Pretty cool residences, though.

I made an unaligned observation, whose content can be verified. Koroth made a partisan attack with no substantiation other than "I believe."

Very true, however Zogby is more reliable than polls from the news agencies. CBS in particular, I believe, does very poor polling.

That McCain is pulling ahead of Obama, despite the love affair (and resulting free publicity) of the press for Obama really shows how lacking in substance Obama really is.

I’m sure CNN and the others will do their best to overcome that issue.

You can’t trust the Zogby polls because their methodology includes self-selected participants.  Always consider others when assessing.
