  A few days before Super Tuesday [Arab-Americans] took an electronic straw poll, sponsored by al-Jazeera. Al-Jazeera viewers – who are for the most part Arabs or interested in Arab affairs – were asked to vote electronically for their choice for U.S. president. A majority of Arabs, 61 percent, voted for Obama; Ron Paul came in at a distant second, with 10 percent.

- Edwards will step up Iraq troop withdrawal

  This is quite an evolution from Edwards’ previously more militant stance on keeping troops in Iraq, and his overall liberal hawk foreign policy stances. His bad call on authorizing force for Iraq and calls for aggression against Iran were the chief things preventing me from wholeheartedly endorsing him. Indeed, the odd juxtaposition of his fighting populist/progressive domestic policies and his weird “warlike” foreign policy stance creates a big disconnect...

- Living And Loving In Lebanon

  I’ve been living in Lebanon for 22 years now, my whole life. I was born during war, so all the memories and sound clashes of this horrible experience still flow in my head nowadays. I hold visions of power and resistance against all major disturbances in our society from our well-built civilization. All these years living amidst political tension prevents us from living a normal life, but we love Lebanon.

  I was born two years after the revolution, the same year Iraq invaded Iranian frontiers and triggered an 8-year war. I'm what they call the “child of revolution” or sometimes “child of war.” Having experienced the bitterness and problems of the war and the limitations of living in a society of revolutionary Islamic teachings, I can say my generation has seen it all.
