Paul McCartney: An Icon Ages Gracefully

      Posted by Damianmann from NPR

It's hard to quantify Paul McCartney's impact on music history: The former Beatle has written some of pop music's most indelible songs, both alone and with John Lennon, and become a knighted icon. He's listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful musician and composer in popular music history, with massive popularity in The Beatles, with Wings and as a solo artist.

    • Learn Guitar From Mission of Burma's Roger Miller!

      Posted by Damianmann from pitchforkmedia.com

Though the guitarist/singer/songwriter's place in the annals of music history is fairly secure as a member of legendary post-punk band Mission of Burma, he still has to earn his keep financially. It's a little sad, but he has come up with an awesome solution: give guitar lessons. Even better, announce them in a post on the Boston area craigslist.

Gordie Johnson: Traveling and Rambling In Austin

      Posted by HeatherOrato

    • MySpace, MySpears: Hounding Britney

      Posted by Orato

Getting a Britney Spears exclusive doesn’t necessarily require going undercover at Promises Treatment Facility, but it seemingly does require some creativity. I didn’t get the shocking story, but I did sniff out Ms. Spears, and something smelled a little funny. But I suspected I was on the right track, because I had my sources.

I Am El Vez: The Mexican King

      Posted by Orato

I am El Vez, the Mexican Elvis - a modern mulitcultural hybrid of Americana and Mexicano. More than just entertainment, I am a thinking man’s Elvis, a post-modern King with a Latin twist, the Chicano experience presented and told through the songs of Elvis.

Shades Of Elvis: Living Like The King

      Posted by Orato

I’ve been an Elvis fan since I was a little kid and I’ve been impersonating him since 1994; I did a few impersonations in high school and then I discovered Karaoke in 1992. One night, I’d done a song called “It’s Only Make Believe” by Conway Twitty, and people thought Elvis recorded it – He never did record it, though he probably sang it. After that, whenever I’d go someplace, people wanted me to do Elvis, so I did...

I actually knew Hilly from the NYC Hardcore days and I just have to say, it is the end of an era.
