Downloaders face the music as record industry sues

Posted by Jeff from Seattle Post-Intelligencer

"Copyright infringement is wrong, but abuse of innocent people is wrong too," said Lory Lybeck, a Mercer Island attorney who has several clients accused of copyright infringement. "There's a predominance of (these lawsuits) filed against people who simply can't participate in the federal legal system."

Mr. Magni: Iceland's Singer Of The Year

      Posted by Orato

The name 'Magni' comes from Norse mythology (son of Thor) and means 'strong.' But today, the name brings a much different character to mind, for Magni was just awarded the People's Choice Award for Singer of the Year on the northwest European island of Iceland. Magni has been passionate about music since his youth and, in 1999, moved to Reykjavik and became the lead singer for the band Á Móti Sól.

      Posted by Orato

While Dilana is well known as the runner up on the Rock Star Supernova reality TV show, she's been a singer, songwriter and performer since she was five years old. I'm Not The Next Pussycat Doll; I'm Anastacia

      Posted by Orato

I was recently in a reality TV show called The Search For The Next Pussycat Doll, where I was competing against a group of beautiful, talented young women to be part of the ultimate, multi-platinum-selling girl group - the Pussycat Dolls. Reality TV is an amazing thing; it’s like being in a fish bowl. Suddenly millions of people know who I am…but I didn’t just come about overnight.

I Was Discovered By Maria Carey's Producer

      Posted by Orato

It all started when I got a phone call from this guy named Ben Marguiles, who co-wrote and produced most of Mariah Carey’s first record. He had received a demo of my songs that I wrote and recorded when I was 16 years old, he liked what he heard and he called me. He wanted to fly me out to Santa Barbara to record a song with him. I just assumed it was a lie, because everyone knew I grew up listening to Mariah Carey. I thought it was probably just someone messing with me.
