New York City Gay bloggers make their mark :: EDGE New York City

      Posted by Villagenyc

"The mainstream media is so full of lies and distortions that we need the unfiltered information which comes from some of these blogs" she said. "Unfortunately too many gay men have the body of Gods and the brains of 15-year-old school girls. • Sen. McCain and sex? It only seemed like a good story

Perhaps the most disingenuous word a journalist can deploy is "seemed." As a transitive verb, "seem" is used "to suggest uncertainty" — not, as The New York Times failed to do, tie one set of facts to another set of facts and thus conclude with certainty "we gotcha."

City May Seek Permit and Insurance for Many Kinds of Public Photography

One of the many tragedies of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina three years ago was the fact that insurance companies used the event to systematically deny claims, leaving victims further in desperate straits. That shouldn’t happen following any natural disaster, and even though the immediate storm effects did not cause as much damage as predicted, there are sure to be plenty of claims for flood damages throughout the Midwest and along Gustav’s path. If you or someone you know has been denied an insurance claim related to Gustav: that would be a site you should visit.

It's kind of unbelievable that no one has anything to say about this. But, that's CommonTimes. They're a shy bunch over here.
