    • Poll Shows Erosion Of Trust in Clinton

Posted by Jeff from Washington Post

Clinton is viewed as "honest and trustworthy" by just 39 percent of Americans, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, compared with 52 percent in May 2006. Nearly six in 10 said in the new poll that she is not honest and trustworthy. And now, compared with Obama, Clinton has a deep trust deficit among Democrats, trailing him by 23 points as the more honest, an area on which she once led both Obama and John Edwards.

      Obama: Clinton Using GOP Playbook

Posted by Jeff from Huffington Post

After days on the campaign defensive, Democrat Barack Obama accused rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday of leveling criticism straight from the Republican playbook and said even so, he will win the White House over John McCain and an "out of touch" GOP.

Liberal bloggers want to say 'bye' to Bayh

Ya know, it seems to me that if Obama’s talkings about bringing people together was anything other than total BS he’d grab a staunch conservative as Veep. The Veep would have no power, beeing a Veep, but would probably grab quite a few votes from McCain.

It’d probably make for some intererest discussions on the Oval Office.

I agree. Have you ever read Michael Chrichton’s book Airframe? it has a subplot in which the media take a few facts way out of context in their desire to get the killer story.

Woldn’t it be nice to read a newspaper and believe that the front page articles weren’t editorials? I used to believe that, a long time ago. Thank goodness for the rise of the alternatives.

I tend to agree. It appears that many reporters are more likely to exagerate the news in an attempt to gain attention.  There is more garbage (sensationalism) being presented and very little in the war of factual news reporting. There is very little factual and non-biased news being reported. It appears that most are opinionated. Opinions only belong on the editorial page.

i think you’re right on all counts. Mainstream media types have consistently polled as voting democrat and also as being further left than the mainstream US population. Doesn’t that guarantee bias?

Plus, I think they look for headlines first, objectivity last. Something that can make a spalshy headline will get the air time over something that isn’t. Hance the media rep for "All bad news, all the time."

I also think that many reporters know nothing of the subjects they cover. So people with no knowledge of science cover climate change, people with no knowledge of economics or wealth building cover money issues and the rich, people who hate the military cover the war, and so on.

Of course, that clulessness, bias, and lack of interest in the facts is why the numbers for Big Media are tanking.

While truth is somewhat subjective, facts aren’t and facts are in sort supply with our media.

I don’t know. It is difficult to know what is BS or what is legit. Many seem to have a bias and a disrespect or aversion to tell the truth.

Maybe he thinks it was one of those "fake, but accurate" stories so common in our media. I wonder if Olbermann woiuld have done the same if the out-of-contect quote had been connected to a Republican? Obama is their little darling, after all. Somehow I doubt it.

Still, it’s one of those baby steps.

I wholeheartedly support the decision. Far too many reporters are reporting half truths or taking what is said our of context possibly because of political bias. I am saddened to see that he has chosen to take that direction. It would be interested in knowing why he has taken that position.
