      Chavez of Arabia

Posted by j1o2n3a4s5 from Al Jazeera

Chavez is once again on the diplomatic offensive. During his recent trip to Beijing, Chavez blasted Israel for the current war in Lebanon – which he referred to as a campaign of ‘genocide’. By distancing himself from Israel – a country with whom Venezuela has long held good relations – Chavez is cementing his country’s ties to Iran and endearing himself to the Arab world ahead of his upcoming trip to the region

Beetles are killing tens of millions of trees, and there's no stopping them.

Posted by j1o2n3a4s5 from Los Angeles Times

One culprit may be climate change. The beetle population is best kept in check by cold weather, especially a sharp cold snap in early fall or late spring. But federal research entomologist Barbara Bentz says temperatures in alpine forests have been rising since the 1980s — not sharply, but enough to let the beetle thrive. The prolonged Western drought has made matters worse by stressing the trees, leaving them more vulnerable to infestation. Perhaps the biggest factor is the age of the mountain forests. In central Colorado, for instance, decades of fire suppression and logging restrictions have left many slopes densely packed with lodgepole pines 100 to 120 years old. Such trees, which can reach about 70 feet, are the beetles’ favorite habitat. Ah, human folly.

Posted by Billbar from Yahoo News!

A woman in Hohhot, the capital of north China's Inner Mongolia region, crashed her car while giving her dog a driving lesson, the official Xinhua News Agency said Monday. The woman, identified only be her surname, Li, said her dog "was fond of crouching on the steering wheel and often watched her drive," according to Xinhua. "She thought she would let the dog 'have a try' while she operated the accelerator and brake," the report said. "They did not make it far before crashing into an oncoming car."

Maine Mystery Beast carcass is canine

      Posted by Billbar from Cryptomundo

The body of the dead animal found in Turner, Maine, according to DNA tests conducted on behalf of and paid for by the Lewiston newspaper, the Sun Journal, belonged to a member of the genus Canis, not a Tasmanian devil, not a rodent, not a Chupacabras, not a hyena, not a werewolf, not an Eastern Bigfoot, and/or not from any wild species speculations that were heard over the last ten days. Nevertheless, it is important to understand, the real Mystery Beast is still out there!

      The Planned Assault on Iran

Posted by j1o2n3a4s5 from Counter Punch

Hasan Nasrallah, admires the eminently secularist and humanist Che Guevara, and has stated that he doubts sharia law will ever be accepted in Lebanon’s multicultural society. It looks to me as though Lebanese society has united against the U.S. imperialist program, involving as it does subtle designs to bring European allies/rivals on board, and that this is largely due to the Shiite organizers’ careful efforts to promote nationalistic unity. Such unity if it holds could inspire the growing global antiwar movement in the coming weeks. It could backfire big-time on Washington’s warmongers whose terrorist record finds few parallels in recent history

Really? Wow, that’s amazing! If the twin was actually living inside of him, did he have any kind of consciousness? Intriguing.

Nothing remarkable. I have worked in the hospitality industry most of my life. My interests tend to be of things spiritual, about science, the fringes of knowledge, chess, and computer programming to name a few.
